Hallmarking

Argent of London uses precious metals with guaranteed and certified levels of purity.

The term sterling silver is used to denote it is at least 92.5% pure. All silver products sold by Argent are sterling/925 unless stated otherwise.

The gold standards used by Argent are indicated in the product descriptions; in the main we tend to use either 14ct or 18ct, but we occasionally use 9ct or 22ct.

Our designs are individually tested by the London Assay Office and then hallmarked with our Sponsor's mark (AoL) to certify the item conforms to the correct standard. Items under a certain weight, for example silver pieces of under 7 grams or gold under 1 gram, are not required to be hallmarked. Having said that, Argent frequently chooses to have these pieces certified.
